Chaos

Day three of the great tidy/turn out, yesterday was a panic day - why did I start this??? - but then passed that and can see the end (and the computer) I have really gone thro' everything and have a large amount for the crafty meet I'll be going to next saturday so forward and onward and I can get on with soome crafting.

A Wet Weekend in Wales at Wendy's Workshop.

Roy and I visited Wendy and her husband for the weekend, unfortunately altho' we had a good saturday morning weather wise the rest was pretty grim - but - a very wet sunday meant we didn't feel at all guilty spending the day in the craft room (we wouldn't have felt guilty if it had been fine come to that). We had a great time playing with metal, I hadn't done much of this before as I have no tools, so, under instruction, I was able to put together a wall plaque using Ten Second Studio metal and tools in addition to my cuttlebug embossing folders, I love the result. We then covered a mini canvas with embossed metal , added an embossed word, a sizzix die bookplate and punched flowers, the turquoise colour was alcohol ink. After working in Wendy's wonderful new craft room I have returned home to my room that, at present, is best described as a tip - so - no crafting until it's tidy again!!

Another challenge.

I saw on Viv's blog that at Something Completely Different this weeks challenge was a 6x4 postcard made using Turquoise(Teal)and Brown as the main colours, amid the chaos of my craft room I knew I had a piece of leftover scrapbook paper in the very colours from a tag I made last week, it also gave me a chance to use my spotty Wendy Vecchi flower in conjunction with a couple of spotty Papermania flower stamps, so put these together with the odd embellishment and there you have it - a Turquoise and Brown "Happiness " postcard.

Texture

The theme for Tuesday Taggers this week is Texture, my entry is a card with a cuttlebug embossed background,( using two folders) I then added the polka dot ribbon and layered the vintage photo onto a fabric background and stitched it on to the embossed card, the flower is made up of punched and paper flowers. Since finishing this card i see that this weeks cuttlebug challenge is using a sketch which amazingly my card fits in with.

Dashing about.

Between caravan weekends, shopping and the dreaded HW I keep making the odd ATC, the bird one is for the latest MAMMA challenge, theme my favourite things, I really love bird images to craft with and the Gipsy is to go into my stash. I am trying to sort out my rubber stamps, over a year ago i took them all off their wooden blocks to save space but i never really organised them so having a go now, not too keen on the job but it has to be done as they are so mixed up and hopefully I will save time in not having to search for stamps that i know i have but not know where they are.

Grunge flower

Lovely to work with, this grunge paper, it does tend to be dark when inked but still gives a good effect,(my pic looks darker than it is)

Polka Dots

I have been playing with my new Wendy Vecchi, polka dot, flower stamps and Grunge paper that Jan bought me for my birthday, I saw that the Tuesday Taggers had a theme of Friends so I made this tag with a grungepaper stamped flower and text from an Elusive Images stamp.

Slow times

I haven't done much since I returned home, on the way North we diverted to Barnard Castle to visit the Graphicus shop and I bought some lovely Elusive images stamps and some Tim Holtz stamps, I have been busy putting them on to EZ mount and thinking about reorganising my storage of stamps.I also had some lovely new stamps for my birthday and am itching to play with them . There is a meet coming up next month of ATCers so have been making some simple atcs for swaps, simple but hopefully acceptable.I think at this time of year we tend to slow down in our crafting with gardening, holidays and with luck lazy days in the garden soaking up what little sun we have in England.

What a start!

We are just home from taking my Aunt to Scotland for her birthday treat, we enjoyed the holiday and the weather was good but we certainly had a bad start as just an hour into the journey towards Scotland the coach had a flat tyre and we were stuck in a lay by for three hours until the tyre could be changed, 12 hours later we arrived at the hotel, Our first holiday photo is posted here.
