Dog Tooth.....
This weeks Less is More challenge is to use three squares on your card, so out came the Artistic Stamper 'dog tooth check' stamp for the main square, I punched a small square for the sentiment and for the third I stamped an Inkadinkado spotty flourish as the butterfly's trail, the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch, I keep thinking that perhaps I should have done faux stitching with a fine liner around the two white squares, to make it show up from the white card, but then I didn't want to spoil it once it was finished. I have given up with the camera pics at the moment and this I scanned, honestly there are no marks on the actual card so that means I MUST CLEAN MY SCANNER PLATE!!

This is lovely Maureen. It's such a good layout, using one square as a base layer, yet still keeping the card CAS.
You could have done faux stitching, but I think it's fine as it is. Either would have worked well. For me, the butterfly's trail (which I think is a brill idea to use the flourish)goes in the wrong direction... I'm being really picky now... so tell me off!
Anyway, it's a fab card Maureen!
See you next time!

Lovely card and a great layout, well done.
Maureen......x
Love your card, great square layers.
A great card Maureen. I love the simple, sharp clear lines though there are times when I like a few frills and flowers too. It's a very elegant design - you should be pleased with it.
Love this xx jan
super clever card! love the way you used 3 squares!!
I rarely scan my cards for the same reason...I always see spots that I don't see on my scanner plate! I love the black and white combo...so elegant!
Hi Maureen
I really like your use of the 3 squares. The layout is good. You didn't need to do the faux stitching you mention, but I think it would have looked nice either way!
Hugs, Sandra

Super card Maureen, love the dog tooth, layout and black and white!

Gorgeous card - it looks so elegant.
I would have been tempted to add a black edge to your card pieces ( I did a similar thing to mine) but your card is so stiking anyway, I don't think it would have added much.

Such a good card......love that you used your three boxes this way and not just across the card front.....Love the butterfly too!
Lovely card Maureen, thanks for the tip on uploading my stuff to other blogs much appreciated.
Black and White aboslutely stunning
Lovely card Maureen - though I miss the textile art!
I'm sure you will be back to it before long.
The new bright Blog background is great - so cheerful!
And a nice new photo too, Connie,x
Maureen what a lovely card....elegant.
Anne
Black and white - you can't get more classic and simple than this!
P.S. So funny, here in the states, and from where I've grown up, we refer to that pattern as "hound's tooth." I've never heard it called "dog tooth." Same thing really, but it tickled my funny bone. So fun to visit blogs from around the world!
Love the dogtooth background, it really sets off the other 2 squares.
love black and white combo. Great card
oh it;s lovely Maureen, love it

The black and white is very striking. x
This card looks really striking.
Love the tooth check square.
What a great card , really love different it looks and that butterfly is just lovely.

The dogs tooth print is really striking and looks well with the butterfly and flourish. The shadow of the square is enough to make it stand out I think but faux stitching would be fine too or how about sponging the edges of the card stock in a pale grey!
I thought it was Hound's tooth but there you go!!
Love Black and White themes .
And this is no exception . Beautiful design .
