Tag Attack

The most mess I usually make is when I'm using my distress inks as I'm not one for 'messy crafting' but I couldn't resist trying this alcohol ink technique on acetate after i'd seen it in a magazine and as I'm going to a product workshop with the said inks next week I thought i'd better get in the mood.
I covered a piece of acetate with A I in shades of red then stamped on it with a scroll stamp and black archival ink then dabbed off the black and IT WORKED!! leaving a lovely background, I put a pale green card behind the acetate and the rest is history - see the picture, it took me a while to get the colours right as i felt it was far to red at first so had to 'grunge' it down a bit.

Inspired!

I can't believe I've not posted for a whole week, where does the time go to. This week had a lovely start as on monday we were lucky enough to go to the craft trade show at the NEC, pure crafting heaven and lots of new goodies ordered for the shop.
I've long been a fan of Wendy Vecchi stamps altho' I haven't used them for a good while and seeing them used both on C&C and at the show by the lovely Hels Sheridan has remotivated me ( is that a word?) Hels has also been using the Studio 490 Art Parts and I just happened to have a pack stored away - so - this is the result, see I have been crafting! and as Barry has ordered some for his shop there should be more to come.

More monochrome

This is another of the cards I used for the basic stamping workshop, I'm now preping the next for three weeks hence and that is to be 'colouring with distress inks' - trouble is I keep changing my mind on what to do - think I'm nearly there tho' unless I think of something else during my early morning 'thinkathon', at least i'll have plenty of toppers for my own cards once the decision is made.

A good day.........

Well my workshop went well with 11 lovely happy ladies, we did basic stamping as they were in the main complete stamping novices, the cards in this post are a couple of examples of what they were to end up with give or take the odd embellishment, I thought the black and white theme was perfect for basic stamping. They all went happily home with three completed cards.

Today's the day!!

Well today's the day of my workshop - I'm doing basic stamping and the plan is that by the end of the workshop the ladies will have made three cards - fingers crossed it works, I think I've spent the night going thro the whole thing time after time instead of sleeping - am I nervous??....yes.
I had a lovely afternoon yesterday in my cleared craft room on my lovely decluttered and tidy desk, I'm sure it is a foot larger than last week - I promise to keep it like that - well i'll try.
This is the card I made, it started off as a tag and just sort ended up as a card, I think it looks better in reality as the photo isn't too good.

Taken from the book....

Those of you who read Craft Stamper magazine will recognize these cards as being taken from a project in this months mag, they really caught my eye and it's a change to go clean and simple every so often. In the book red ink was used but I chose black for one and Stampin Ups rich razzleberry for the second.

Vintage beiges

I made a card pretty much identical card to this before christmas and someone thought it would perhaps make a nice vintage style wedding card if done in paler colours, not sure about that but gave it a go and I like it!! I made a grungey flower, the birdcage is cut with the cricut and the bird and branch an EK punch, I found some matching lace for the bow. I've had the hat pins years and coloured them with a promarker.
I've spent the morning prepping for a basic stamping workshop I'm doing next weekend and then before I can do any crafting I have to clear my desk which is a tip - a tip covered in the card candy I dropped all over it - so I think for the rest of the day I'm staying in front of the fire looking out at the snow.
I'll enter this into the Stamp Man challenge - Embellish it.

'Shabby Chic'

This card is made using Just Rite stamps - Shabby Chic Labels Four - that can be cut out with spellbinder dies, the inspiration for this card was taken from one I saw in the Just Rite gallery, not sure about it but it will go as a sample in the shop.
