2nd Book Cover

As I had painted two pieces of tissutex I made another book cover, the embellishments were inspired by a project in the latest 'Stitch' magazine altho'in the past I have used a similiar design on an ATC in metal.

Book Cover

I'm working on lesson 3 of my online course and this involves using and painting tissue and tissutex , I have made a book cover using the tissutex and squares of waxed gold that started off as plain old brown paper and added a napkin grid, I can't believe that this this piece feels more like leather than paper.I have used an interference blue acrylic paint and this shows stronger on the photo than it actually is.

Doing a bit

Doing a bit of everything, that is housework, clearing out, paperwork and a bit of crafting including the Ratty Tatty Papers course. This picture is the latest swap for the MAMMA group, the theme was Tryptich and that word brings to mind Icon type things so that's what I did.

New Start.

Back home after taking my Aunt home, it will be strange not having to keep going off to look after my Mum, but we will be still keeping an eye on my Aunt - albeit it at long distance, she is 150 miles away and a reasonably fit 89 year old ( see photo with my OH). The photo was taken in Whitby yesterday, we had driven over the moors in thick fog and snow then the sun came out as we arrived and it turned out a lovely day but cold. I'm going to have a fairly lazy day tomorrow, then get my house in order ( and my craft room) then back to some craft work (Ihope).

Loving this!!

Two more pieces added, the pansy piece made using a napkin and the lighthouse postcard from a printed tissue pack that I found. I was thinking I had all week to do the house challenge but have realised it's a friday deadline so have to pass this week, I keep losing my days- We even completely forgot it was our Wedding Anniversary last friday, hopefully we will settle next week after Mum's funeral, seems to have been a long wait.

Course Started!

I have started the online Ratty Tatty Papers course today, my Aunt ,who is still with us for a further week, doesn't think much of me popping into my craft room to have a craft fix so I have moved the machine, heat gun and papers etc into the lounge - it's a mess! - so that i can keep up with the course. The first piece is made using paper napkins and stitching and despite it being short on colour I am pleased with the result ,so forward and onward (I hope)

I don't believe it!!!

I am so excited to learn that I have won an Honorable Mention for the ATC that I sent to Susan Lenz for the Cyber Fyber exhibition in America. I really had no expectations of winning anything , indeed I really wasn't aware that there would be awards so it has come as a total surprise. I'm posting the ATC here.

More Hearts and Flowers

One more heart for the Valentine Swap on MAMMA, not doing much else as still have my Aunt with us for another week or so. I am starting an online course - Ratty Tatty Papers - on wednesday so that should be interesting, I have no idea what to expect at all but it should be fun.

Early!!

I know it's very early for Valentine's day but an extension of the MAMMA swap is a valentines heart swap so I did this one and it just suited my mood to do something 'pretty', may even do another while I'm in the mood.

So Sad

Just a short post to say that my Mum passed away peacefully on new years morning, she was 93 and very tired.
