I see that the ABC challenge blog is doing 'V is for Vintage' this week so I thought I'd get out my fabric pictures and lace and make a stitched card, I used a vintage looking rose print backing paper from Bearly Mine designs and added a flourish given to me by Jan and a walnut inked flower or two with some punched greenery.

Tuesday Taggers are having a 'man's world' theme this week and I think my new Clarity Cottage stamp will fit the bill nicely with some man style backing papers, I've used promarkers to colour the cottage.I must add that the Craft Barn are sponsoring this weeks challenge and giving a voucher to the winner.

Too clever for my own good! - I decided that rather than store left over bits of backing papers in a box and never use them I would make up some cards with these bits, store them then just add toppers as and when, yesterday I put two base cards together, this morning bright and early I started to add the topper to one of them (see picture) and - the floral backing paper was upside down !! - as it was beyond repair when I took it apart I had to print another piece , now i still have some bits left ,dare I start again or shall I just take up knitting!!

Two cards, I knew just what I was doing and both went wrong so I rescued the bits and put these together, not my best efforts but I hate wasting things, especially as I had spent time 'colouring in' the stamped images. The blue card disaster was my fault because I decided to start spraying some lace and forgot to move the card bits and both the image and backing paper ended up glimmered - that's why the image ended up cut around.

It's the Tuesday Taggers blogaverrsary and they have given us a piece of cake in the form of a digi stamp and the challenge this week is to use chocolate and cream to make a tag which will be sent off to a fellow tagger, I have used the cake digi stamp on my tag and some more of those lovely downloaded backing papers.

Sunday while I was blog hopping I found Bearly Mine Designs and beautiful floral backing papers to buy and download,Donna was doing a special on flowers, ginghams and my favourites - polka dots - so I treated myself (as you do) and here is an example using a pansy design paper, I'm so pleased with how they print out.I know I said yesterday I must get on with some stitching and not make cards but I like to get up and make one before breakfast then get on with all the other things.

More cards for the charity box, I love the Pansy stamp and it can be used in so many ways, with so many papers. The other two cards are a magnolia stamp and a digi stamp, the flower embellishments are made using punches. Now I must put the card stuff away for a few days and get down to some stitching for gifts.

I have made a few cards since my last post and this one I've entered into the Magnolia blog challenge for this week - I thought it fit the theme - One for the Girls - I have just a few Magnolia stamps and this is 'Tilda with Tulips', anyway I think the card making has done the trick and I feel much brighter today.

Not getting on too well at the moment, we have just had to have a flying visit to Yorkshire as my Aunt hasn't been well, all in the middle of a visit to her from my cousin and her family, so we went to see how she was and spent some time with her after Sandi left, think she's on the mend now and just needs to look after herself, OH has just gone off to visit his mum who also isn't so good at the moment. Not much to show in the crafting line altho I did make this bookmark last week, I think now I'm going to indulge myself and make a couple of birthday cards for the charity box, hopefully they'll cheer me up.

I opened a box last week and found an unfinished book that I was putting together, it needed 3 more quilties and then the cover added so as I am in stitching mode just now I thought I'd have a go at finishing it, this is the latest quiltie pictured then two more to make, I think the cover will need some thinking about and inspiration.

Just back from a weekends caravanning, enjoyable but brrr it was cold!! I took my book to work on but not all the right threads so still have only finished the cover, it's ok stitching on the pelmet vilene but as I lined it with papinted cartridge paper it made it hard to stitch together, just showing the outside cover for now.
