Long time no posts I'm afraid, that isn't to say I've been idle of course!!
As I'm back in sewing mode I thought I'd show these two pieces, I really have a fantastic collection of lace and such to use up, the first is a small wall hanging using lace both ancient and modern with some pearly embellishments, in the top left corner, from my late aunts wedding headdress.
The second picture is a postcard I made to swap with a friend, again using all ages of lace.

Altered book cover..........
I
originally bought this little book for the pages, to stamp on etc, but
then as it was a good solid cover I decided to alter it and ,having
removed the pages, i put a box base inside. I'm determined to use up
that stash of embelishments , one down but plenty more to go!!

John Lennon mode...........
Never was a great fan of John Lennon but I think this is a great image so I used it as a journal page and a Finnabair style canvas.

Memories of Grace...........
Those of us of a 'certain age' will remember the beautiful Princess Grace of Monaco as Grace Kelly - film star - here I've included her face in a canvas i created -Finnabair style (tworzysko.blogspot.com/), I have boxes of embelishments saved - why do we save these things rather than use them? - so I'm making canvases. This one is A4 size.

A little bit different...........
Well different for me - I agreed to do a workshop using the Kanban 'Garden Birds' kit, the ladies made four cards and this one I managed to get a little of my style in by using hessian and twine along with kraft card.

Back to patchwork........
I love this little pin cushion, almost too good to use, the hexagons were made using a scrap of a liberty print that I got from somewhere years ago.
Just one more...............
So I love this Dragon Fly stamp and the tag of course, can't promise I won't make any more but we'll see.
This was made especially for someone who didn't understand what Art Tags are.

Dragonfly Tag inspired by........
Tim Holtz does monthly tag tutorials, and I particularly liked his April 2013 tag so I set to to make it his way and was disappointed that it was dull, I obviously hadn't got the colours right so I decided to do it my way using distress inks instead of paints and it was much better and I was able to include it in my tag workshop a few weeks ago.
The lower tag is the one using the paints.

Big Bee etc...........
Another workshop card, this time I used Sweet Pea stamps and their Steampunk Bee, the wings are actually "decoupaged"
This is the other stamp we used - Steampunk Butterfly, I think the ladies enjoyed the workshop altho' they all weren't sure about the bee. Both cards are 8 x 8.
