Wall Plaque

Despite being full of ideas after visiting the Quilt Festival yesterday, I just had to have a go at this plaque, while out this morning I saw,in a store, a large wall hanging that reminded me of squares covered in beautiful scrapbook papers then stamped with swirls - I can do that I thought and here it is my mini version, I covered chipboard squares with K&Co paper, glimmer sprayed then stamped with Elusive Images Wild Meadow stamps and edged with orange distress inks. The canvas I just painted with a pearly paint but then thought it needed more so I tore up a music printed napkin and mod podged it on, I gessoed, sprayed and inked until I got the right effect, stuck on the squares and it's done - something a bit different for me as I don't do messy too often. ( it is equal at the sides, I scanned it offcentre)

The design, colours, and stamped images are all lovely Maureen. Altogether a very effective piece - and so quickly made! Connie.

this is lovely Maureen - didn't realise it was on canvas, it looked like a wooden frame! You must have really worked hard to finish it so quickly

This is lovely Maureen - I love those stamps and the colours you have used. I am trying to pluck up the courage to leave my comfort zone and try making layered painted backgrounds and applying images, doodles, stamped designs etc. I've spent hours reading books about it all and must just get on with it. If I do anything worthwhile I'll post it on my blog. Don't hold your breath!!
