Roy was concerned that this garden visitor had come for a fish breakfast but then we wondered if it was looking for a mate and had taken a fancy to our replica Heron which had been put by the pond to discourage real Herons or so we had been told.
What a beautiful pair of birds! It sounds like something out of a fairy tale, the real bird falling in love with the statue...
Maureen, I have tried to email you to thank you for your kind comments but my emails keep bouncing back. Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate them!
It took me a while to figure out which one was the statue! lol - the one with only one leg! Wouldn't the replica work like a duck decoy to attract other herons? Interesting! What a beautiful bird.

Love the photo Maureen - they do have a tendency to return for the fish though! Connie

oh boy, Maureen, well the decoy definitely didn't work. Loooovely pond tho, and let's hope it doesn't pinch Roy's fish.
No, it didn't work for us either!!
